Sunwrae "Far Away Castle"
Music Video
Client: Sunwrae www.sunwrae.com
description: Far Away Castle is a piece of instrumental contemporary classical music, in rondo form (repetition of a single theme) with various tempi and expressions (music cycle). In this music video, Colin Chee uses animation to portray music as both a life force and an escape from reality. This is a truly evocative piece of film making. It is beautifully conceived, shot and edited. The pace of the content of the shots and editing are perfectly synchronised to the music. Colin Chee is currently personal photographer for Sunwrae Ensemble. This close relationship with the group has helped Colin Chee develop an understanding of their music. Chee's extensive background in violin and piano has provided a springboard for his creative video talents. by Kenneth Schmack

"Memory"
Experimental Video
Description: Personally I love good metaphors and when someone can express some in a visual medium it shows real talent. Colin Chee does just that with his photography, capturing scenes that appear to come from some tale we can guess at, but not fully recognise. This is a beautiful piece exploring memory through the distance created between people when they are separated. The images are murky, making the memories further obscured by time and distance, while the photographs underneath resemble paintings. by Kenneth Schmack
